You can send either Over-the-Counter or prescription items to patients. You can also send items to another pharmacy or clinic. However, your order cannot include narcotics or controlled substances. We do not offer cold chain management (i.e. temperature controlled transport and monitoring). A complete list of prohibited items can be found within the MedEssist Deliveries dashboard.
No, neither you or your patients will need an Uber account. Your patients will be sent a text or email link which they can use to track the delivery. You can also choose to pay the delivery or pass it to the patient.
This service is meant to supplement your driver, not replace them. We have multiple pharmacies that solely use our service and others that use it on a case-by-case basis (ie. on weekends or busier times when their driver isn’t available).

This is a special integration built with Uber’s API where MedEssist pharmacies get access to a special network of Uber drivers that are approved for prescription deliveries and adopt Uber’s protocols for custom deliveries.
Yes, our delivery service is traceable and auditable with a patient signature captured upon delivery that is viewable directly from your MedEssist dashboard. All deliveries are tracked live giving both you and your patient visibility where the order is at all times.
It is the responsibility of the pharmacy to package the items appropriately to not reveal unnecessary information. Drivers are not permitted to open packages at any point and must obtain approval to be able to provide prescription deliveries.
Commercial General Liability (including contractual liability, personal and advertising injury and products and completed operations) with a limit of five million dollars ($5,000,000) per occurrence and five million dollars ($5,000,000) in the aggregate for bodily injury and property damage.Workers Compensation insurance to the extent required by law. Commercial Auto Liability insurance for all owned, hired and non-owned vehicles for bodily injury, including death and property damage for limits of five million dollars ($5,000,000) each accident combined single limit.
